"O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water" (Psalm 63:1). In attempting to set some goals for this year, I found that every goal I set intensifies my need for God. I have therefore adopted the above portion of scripture as my personal prayer for 2010. It is the key to achieving my goals for this year. Without God, I am absolutely destitute and starving. It is of utmost priority therefore that I am serious about seeking God in prayer, reading and studying His Word. What is it like to be thirsty and hungry after God? Unless I was lost in a desert (like David was), I wouldn't know what it would be really like to go for days without anything to eat or drink. I know I would do everything that I could to look for food and water.
