Relationships suffer as communication break down. We walk away from loved ones with deep hurts and disappointment. We also walk away from our relationship with God.  And the days in isolation from God and from loved ones become too long. The days drift into months and the months drift into years. Drifting with nothing to cling to, and with nowhere to belong to or a place we can call a home. In the end we become like shipwrecks; battered, tossed about, sunken like in a sea of endless misery. How do we get back up? As a young child, I learned from him that when you plant a seed, you have to expect it to grow. He helped me to plant orange seeds and I remember getting impatient while waiting for something to happen to the seeds. But it was worth the wait! The seeds grew and my orange tree occupied a special spot in our plantation for many years. It provided many more trees, not only for my family but for other people. There is life in a seed! As a Christian, I learned t he meaning of this spiritual lesson  later in life.  Everything starts with a seed.
