 It's Easter time again!  With Jeanie Hunt and Sisi Fale, Christmas at the Park 2011,   LifeChurch Manurewa  Has anything changed in your life since last Easter? We're in a season of resurrection and God is ushering in new things into our lives! For the last 5 months, I've had many opportunities to share the Gospel and pray for beggars on the streets. People who ask for money are always in an open place, visible to the people passing through. You couldn't miss them unless you were in a hurry or unless you choose to ignore them. Beggars are at the mercy of others for their next meal. They are subject to rejection, judgments and mistreatment by people. How sad it is to think of someone begging for days before someone drops into the hat in-front of them the coins that would bring the long awaited meal. I believe God has placed these people in our path for a reason. Not only that we would help them, but also to remind us that we are all beggars. I was tr...

I am exceedingly grateful to God for a wonderful year , f illed with the richness of His love through Christ Jesus our Lor d! There are three words that have been resonating with me through this holiday season,   "lift up eyes". Let me share some thoughts with you. We had been walking and p raying for an hour and I was feeling breathless . My prayer partner slowed right down to check and to pray for me.  She heard m e pray to God for 'second wind' and she asked if there was a scripture about second wind in the Bible. We grope in the darkness of the valley until  a glimmer of light appears. Hope! University of the Nations YWAM Kona , taken  Jubilee, Dec. 2010 In this post, I want to share with you two simple, yet , significant prayers I had prayed in the early years as a born again Christian . The first prayer was for 'peace'. I was given the name 'Salome' after my great Grand-Aunt. I was gifted with my first English Bible in 1988, and I loved and treasured this bi ble . I discovered while going through it that the name 'Salome' has a Hebrew meaning, "peace" (Shalom). I wanted this to be real for me so I prayed to the Lord to give me his peace. At that time, I was just widowed with two young boys of 9 and 3 years old. Peace was something that I needed particularly at that time.   Welcome to my mid-winter blog-post! Dear friends, It's Saturday morning and I'm enjoying some quality time at home, preparing for our Treasures of Hope Women Group meeting tonight. Reflecting on the journey and the call of God in my life.  Pondering God's counsel; the words of knowledge prayed and spoken over my life by men and women of God in the past. I see clarity in this season, things coming to pass in my family, work and ministry. Perhaps I am more open to God than I ever was before. How I love Him more, His closeness I treasure! God is teaching me more about His love.  He is my strength, "my glory and the lifter of my head"  (Psalm 3;3), as I apply myself with faith to the tasks He has called me to fulfill. "God is my glory and lifter the of my head" (Psalm 3:3) I am privileged to be available to work with the broken and helpless women in our society. Welcome to a re-posting from my 'notes', 2010. Since then, God continues to amaze me with His wonderful love. Jimmy my 'Rapper' friend (mentioned in post) continues to visit at work and brag about his progress.  Praise be to Him, What an awesome God!  My heart always leaps with joy at the sound of good news! And I would say, 'Thank you,' knowing God is there. Many times when listening to stories being told of broken lives, a sense of hopelessness comes across and I would ask, "God are you there?"  Earlier this year I asked for prayers for a 'Rapper' friend who wanted to record his song. He has since recorded his song and is now promoting himself through invitations to participate in local events. His confidence and faith is being built up, and I thank God because, 'He is there.
