I recently had one of those rare moments with my youngest son and this post was inspired from a conversation with him. I found two awards my son received for outstanding performance at his workplace. As his mother, I was happy and blessed and I told him how I felt. It opened a door to one of those rare, mother-son conversations. I was amazed at how grown up and mature he has become. As a team leader, he has insight into the dynamics of teams and the importance of teamwork. It was particularly important to pay attention to the weak members of the team. This was essential in the overall achievement of goals and in meeting deadlines.
As parents, we all want the best for our children. And we pray that they live lives that are pleasing and honoring to God. However, when they don't measure up to expectations, parents become discouraged. Faith grow weak and prayer is non-existent. I will never forget a message I heard where the preacher referred to prayer as like digging a well. He encouraged us to pray until there is water (answers to prayers) in the well. He said it in such a powerful way and it has challenged my prayer life ever since.
Are you experiencing a dry spell in your prayer life? Maybe the well you started digging has been covered up with discouragement. In Numbers 21:17, the children of Israel were thirsty, weary and discouraged. God commanded Moses to : "Gather the people together and He will give them water. Then the children of Israel sang this song: "Spring up, O well! Sing about it, about the well..." They drank and were filled with the water God provided."
Our children are a source of joy to us. The Psalmist 87:7 says, "All my springs are in thee." What are you praying or hoping for? Is it for healing, for a new job opportunities, new ministries, or is it for loved ones to return to the Lord? Keep on loving and remain faithful in prayers. Develop a thankful heart and enjoy the blessings of God that are already around you. Trust God for His answers are always on time, on His time!
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, you know where our life springs have dried up.
Help us not to lose our zeal for you through prayerless-ness.
Revive and renew our passion for the things that are dear to you,
In Jesus Name, Amen.

Thank you dear Lome, for this word today. . .just what I needed to hear! Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever be free from this pain in my feet and hands. . .I get discouraged. So this word today, really encouraged me to keep on speaking out my healing scriptures (out-loud), daily, over my body, until my body comes into allignment with the Word of God, bringing the total manifestation of my healing. Love this verse - "You have been healed by His wounds." 1 Peter 2:24b
Love you dear sis!
Linda
