Welcome to my new blogpost!

I got home last night just before my grand-kids arrived for the
weekend. One of them needed a bit of grandma-loving-care (glc). I put them to
bed and sat down and told them a story about Jesus as a little boy.
Bright eyed at first, but then they fell asleep as I was still talking.
Of all the things I did in the week, this was the most fulfilling
moment. Earning a living, serving and helping others (church, community)
are necessary. But if we miss the moments we are needed most by our
families, we will miss the blessings of being part of our families.
In my line of work, I come across many parents who are struggling to keep their families together. Some would willingly give up their children because they have had enough. There is either a lack of support in families or parents are beyond the point of helping. They are giving up.
A while ago, I read a message by a well known Samoan Pastor who has gone to be with the Lord. He said, "Ia malosi le alofa i totonu o aiga" (Samoan for "Keep love strong in the home"). I encourage you, if your marriage or relationship is struggling, pay attention to it. When love is strong in the home, it becomes an effective weapon against the enemy who wants to destroy families through, drugs, alcohol, infidelity and more... -think about it.
If our children need us, we need to be there for them. There are no perfect parents and there are no medals for good parenting, or are there? Some of you are no doubt great parents and if you happen to have all the support around you, appreciate it and count your blessings. Some are struggling and will keep on struggling to keep the family unit together. And God is our helper.
How about a word of Prayer:
Heavenly Father, you created families. Please give us (parents, grandparents) the strength, the courage to fight for our families through prayer, through being present when they need us. We need spiritual strength as much as physical strength. May you be glorified in our lives and in our families, In Jesus Name, Amen.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
